On Wednesday, a similar exercise took place at West Marion High School.

“Our (School Resource Officers) are being trained to respond to situations, but (Saturday) and in our previous drills and future drills they will be training in conjunction with SWAT and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department to respond together as a cohesive unit. said Carl Michael Day, Marion County Schools Superintendent.

Day says more drills will take place next week at West Marion Elementary School and the Marion County School District Vocational and Technical Center.
